Bukky was the notorious tomcat of our block, around 6 years of age, who used to bully Hobbes and Co. He started visiting during the lockdown, and after a while demands food regularly. He had a lot of wounds from fighting, and was fiercely territorial. When I observed that he would allow me to clean his wounds, I immediately made a schedule for his feeding so it would be easy for me to trap him to be sterilized.
Bukky boy never left our premises even during the day. It was clear he wanted to retire so I immediately arranged for his neuter operation. It took a month of quarantine before all his wounds healed, and I decided to take him in after a good friend of ours volunteered to sponsor him. He now has his own litterbox and is sleeping in my small room. I named him after the writer Charles Bukowski because he has a lot of stories to tell, and now seems to make peace with his retirement.
