Ben was a gift from my bestfriend for my first solo exhibit. He brought him in a box with a big pack of dog food. He was so small, only three-months old, but already hyperactive. That day I left him for a few hours in a cage I used for my rabbit who died years ago, while I attended my exhibit. I had no clue how to take care of a dog, so the days that followed were a lot of work, trips to the vet, as well as the weeks and months of training - teaching him to "sit", "stay there", and "come here". Ben is a runner, sniffer, and all-around ball of energy who also draws near when he senses something is wrong - or if you are feeling ill or down. He is the perfect guard dog, my only companion in moments and seasons of solitary living/working.
